NEIL EVANS: COUNSELLOR
Helping you move forward
About me

Hello, I am Neil, and I will put you at ease together. I am a BACP-registered (Accred) counsellor. You can reach me on 07909 657263 or by email at info.counsellingneilevans@gmail.com. You can explore areas including anxiety, depression, relational issues, abuse, childhood trauma, and any other challenges you may be facing at a pace that feels comfortable for you. These issues are often hidden but can surface in ways that have a huge impact on us, our relationships, and our ability to function at our highest level.

I can provide counselling, personal therapy, and clinical supervision.

I am adept at working with both adults and young people, bringing new insight into your issues, and applying a highly skilled integrative approach to all therapeutic relationships. It can be hard to make sense of what’s going on or know how to move out of unhelpful behaviours. Difficulties such as tolerating overwhelming emotions and barriers to effectively communicating and expressing your emotions and needs can be problematic, yet when working with me, you will have a space to work through any confusion, develop new ways of coping, and adopt interventions to help guide you out of your challenges.

Working alongside young people aged 11–18 years, I work with the person's developmental process, guiding them to make autonomous, considered, and effective changes to their lives. Often, distance from family and peers, along with providing a confidential, risk-aware approach, allows for a safe space to hold and explore the emergence of issues including self-harm, depression, anxiety, loneliness, bullying, and interfamilial distress without judgement or consequence.
My relational, informal, and relaxed approach prompts and promotes strong relationships to develop, which in turn produces successful therapeutic outcomes.

Testimonials:

Counselling has been useful to help me navigate and observe my own mind to prevent escalation and regulate. Neil has helped through supplying tools and strategies, through guided sessions. These sessions have helped me become more proactive and independent with my feelings, and this in turn, has had less of an effect on my day-to-day life, as I can manage my emotions and actions more effectively. I have progressed a lot over 8 months and would like to highlight this has also been a credit to Neil, including the trusting relationship we built over these months. K.M - 2023
“Neil helped me to better understand my thoughts and feelings, and where they come from. He took me back to look at things in more depth than I ever had before. I’m so proud of the work he and I did together; and so grateful to him for supporting me on that journey, for keeping me safe, and for guiding me to being my most authentic and strongest self.” G.W - 2023
"Neil has been treating my son in his private practice over the summer. In spite of four failed attempts at therapy, Neil developed a professional relationship with him and engaged him in a way that was unexpected. It is something I honestly thought would never happen.
His interpersonal skills are exceptional. As a family, he has provided support at a time when we were most vulnerable. Neil was able to engage him in therapy in an uncanny manner. The impact he has had on him has been incredible and positive.
He is incredibly welcoming and makes anyone who accesses his service feel comfortable.. In addition to being compassionate, he was able to establish a professional relationship.
Having such a positive impact on my son is incredible and we are extremely grateful for it.
We highly recommend Neil as he is a warm, welcoming, and compassionate therapist.
I would like to thank you for having such a positive impact on my son. It is impossible for you to understand how much you have helped us all and how much this means to him". E.L - 2022

He is an excellent asset to your profession and is helping me through what is the most difficult part of my life. His manner makes me comfortable to share my feelings which doesn't come easy for me. Without his help I really don't know what I would have done" P.F - 2022
